John Thomas Stoddart, Jr.

July 20, 1920 — July 4, 2004

John Thomas Stoddart, Jr. was born in Buffalo, NY on July 20, 1920, a son of John T. and Ellen (Mosier) Stoddart. He was a direct descendant of Charles Carroll of Carrollton, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. He attended Nichols School in Buffalo and graduated from Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass. and from Yale University. He enlisted in the 10th Mountain Division after graduation On December 1, 1945 he married Lenore M. Thomas of Denver and has made his home in Denver since then, working in insurance and real estate investments. He was active in Mental Health, serving as president of the Colorado Mental Health Assn & on the National Board. He also served on the Colorado Prison Board and is currently a member of the Governor's Advisory Board at Fort Logan Mental Health Center. He also is currently a member of the Park People. He is survived by his wife and three children Anne, Jane and John T. Stoddart, III all of Denver, son-in-law Ron & step-grandson, Ryan. He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret of Buffalo and his twin brother, Charles of Alicante, Spain. Memorial Mass, Monday, 11:00 am, Church of the Good Shepherd, 2626 E. 7th Ave. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation, 1245 E. Colfax Ave., Ste., 400, Denver, 80218 or the Park People, 775 S. Franklin St., Denver, 80209.
