John Tulloch Tobin

November 28, 1929 — January 6, 2008

Born November 28, 1929 and peacefully died at home on January 6, 2008. John was born in Pennsylvania and was one of six children born to Marion and Harold Tobin. He is survived by his wife Ramona, sisters Mary (Melvin) Dodge, Sally (Jim) Fye; sons Michael and Steven Tobin; daughters Cindy and Cilicia Tobin; step-children Michael (Nancy) Capra, Marilyn Capra, David (Lena) Capra and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. While growing up in the wooded acres of Pennsylvania, he developed an early love for the outdoors, hunting and fishing with siblings and friends. While attending high school, he worked at G.E., where he began learning his trade as a refrigeration and heating and air conditioning engineer. Upon graduation, he served in the United States Air Force, stationed at Lowry. Following his enlistment, John remained in Denver, enjoying over 50 years in private business. John was a member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) throughout the entire tenure of his professional life. Recognizing the valuable contributions the organ- ization made within his trade, John's dedication was evident through his willingness to share his knowledge mentoring interns and fellow journeymen. John lived his entire life enjoying free time outdoors, whether fishing, hunting or gardening. John placed great value on friendship and was blessed with many lifelong friends. Following retirement, he found more time to volunteer and actively support Pilgrim Congregational Church. We will celebrate John's life with a Graveside Service and reception for family and friends on Friday, January 11, at Crown Hill Cemetery gathering at 10:45 a.m. at the cemetery's entrance for a procession to the grave site. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1280 S. Parker Road, Denver, 80231. Please share condolences at HoranCares.com.
