John Joseph Toslosky (Jack) of Heather Gardens, Aurora, CO, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 16th, 2018 surrounded by his family. Jack is survived by Barbara (Babs), his loving wife of 58 years; his daughter, Tammy; his son, Jay and Jay's life-partner, Claire; his grandchildren, Thomas and Eleanor; and his sister Barbara Foster. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Stella and Joe Toslosky of Hazelton, Pennsylvania.
Jack graduated from Mount St. Mary's University in 1957 with a BS in Chemistry and from Penn State in 1960 with a Masters in Chemistry. Jack worked in the chemical industry his whole career, starting in research and development in Charleston, West Virginia with Union Carbide Corporation, moving into different sales, leadership and government affairs roles in Moorestown, NJ, New York City, Charlotte, NC and Chicago, IL. He finished his career as the Executive Director of the Chemical Industry Council of Illinois.
Jack will be remembered as the rock of his family, a giving person to his friends, and someone who enjoyed his life with humor and passion. He loved golf, tennis, bridge, fishing, magic tricks, and Penn State football. He was a member of Biltmore CC in Barrington IL, and Lake Barrington Shores Golf Club.
He fought strongly against Parkinson's disease for many years before he passed. A memorial service to honor the life of John Toslosky will be conducted at 10:30 AM, Monday, September 24, 2018 in the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, CO 80014. A reception will follow at the funeral home's HeartLight Center.
