John Wagner

John Michael Wagner, age 68 of Greenwood Village Co.  passed away February 7th after a long illness.  John is survived by his wife Susie Wagner, his three children Gregory Wagner, Alison Koesel and Andrew Wagner, and his seven grandchildren, Colton Saccomano, Camden Wagner, Kaycen Wagner, River Kelso, Lilyana Kelso, Kailoni Koesel, and Kaden Koesel.  The second born to a family of eight children, John was the oldest brother. Family was paramount in John’s life, and it was the times he spent with his family, his children, and his grandchildren that brought him the greatest joy.  John would have been celebrating with Susie, his beloved wife, their 45th wedding anniversary on Valentine’s day this February 14th 2021.

A lifelong hotelier, John was a consummate leader and mentor to many in the community as well as abroad. He greatly enjoyed sharing his experience and unique approach to leadership with those who worked with him; frequently cultivating lifelong relationships. John truly viewed his friends and colleagues as family, often filling his home with them on holidays and special occasions. John saw equal importance in all people he managed. He held an honest interest in the lives of those around him and embraced people’s individuality. Upon meeting people for the first time, John would often ask, “Tell me your story”.

John will be missed greatly by his family & friends.

No memorial events are currently scheduled at this time. The family is planning a “Celebration of Life” later this coming summer.
