John was born in Shamokin, PA to Helen and John Zaremba, Sr. He had four older sisters (Clara, Helen, Celie and Esther) who predeceased him. After graduating from Shamokin High School, he wnt to work for the Wright-Patterson Aeronautical Co. in 1940 in New Jersey. He joined the US Marine Corps in 1942 and was stationed in Camp Lejeune, NC. There he met Denver native Marie Vallero who was also in the US Marine Corps. They were married June 2, 1945. After serving in the occupation forces in Japan, John came to Denver in 1946 where he and Marie resided for the remainder of their lives. Marie died in 2002. They had three children: Terry (Connie), Marise Gerrity (Jim), and Mark (Jacque). John is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. John worked for and later owned Vallero Mercantile Co. for 65 years. He sold the company in 2011 and continued to work for the new owners until February 28th of this year. John was an early and long-time member of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Wheat Ridge, CO and currently is a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Lakewood, CO. John was an exceptional father and an inspiration to his children and grandchildren. Rosary, Wednesday, May 29th at 7pm, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3020 Federal Boulevard, Denver. Funeral Mass, Thursday, May 30th at 11am, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 1985 Miller Street, Lakewood. Interment at Mount Olivet.
