With sad and heavy hearts, his family announces that Dan passed away peacefully at home on November 3rd after a brief illness.
Dan was born October 15, 1954 in Denver, Colorado to John Kohut and Joan E. Kohut (now Stanley). Dan attended St. Mary Magdalene and Holy Family schools before graduating from Jefferson High School in 1972. He attended Western Colorado University (formerly Western State University).
Dan recently retired from the Eaton Corporation, where he was employed for 21 years. Previously, he was co-owner of the Main Frame Bicycle shop in Denver for 7 years.
Dan was an avid skier, fly fisherman, outdoorsman and tinkerer. He enjoyed all sports, in particular college football (his favorite teams being University of Colorado Buffaloes and The Ohio State University Buckeyes). Dan was a Special Olympics ski coach, and among his many other hobbies and interests was a lifelong passion for music and playing guitar.
Dan is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda (Zuck) Kohut, his parents, John (Lynne) Kohut and Joan Stanley, sister Melissa (Jeff) Jefferson of Loma, CO, brother Tony (Cheryl) Kohut of Craig, CO numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his beloved maternal grandmother, Charlotte Shackley, as well as other grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.
