John E. “Jack” Zook died at the age of 91 in Denver, CO at Clermont Park Community.
He was born in 1929, the fifth of eight children, to Harry T. and Ella B. Zook.
Jack graduated from Regis High School and St. Benedict's College in Atchison, Kansas. He served in the United States Marine Corps 1952-1954 in the U.S., Japan, and South Korea, retiring as first lieutenant.
As a Certified Property and Casualty Underwriter, he worked at Denver insurance agencies beginning with the Insurance Company of North America and ending with his own firm, the Zook Insurance Agency in 1985.
He was a long-time member of Mother of God Parish serving as an usher and on parish committees. Jack volunteered at Samaritan House and the Denver County Veterans Services.
Jack enjoyed his family travels to Europe especially the times spent in Ireland where he continued to pursue his interest and extensive research in the families' genealogy.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Anne (Kennebeck) and sons John M. and Robert J., sisters-in-law Betty Riordan Zook, Donna Lambertz, and Nancy Boettcher Zook, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Helen Roberts, Dorothy Carroll, and Miriam Watson, brothers Harry T. Jr., Fredrick, William, and Frank.
A funeral Mass will be offered at Mother of God Catholic Church, Denver, CO, Tuesday, May 4 at 10:00 AM. Due to COVID restrictions, seating is limited.
Jack was laid to rest at Mount Olivet Cemetery on May 4, 2021.
