Johnny Max Amason

Johnny Max Amason, 72, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, passed peacefully at home on November 27, 2019. He Died of natural causes after a lingering illness. He was born on February 26,1947 in Palastine, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Karen Beck Amason; his sons, Joseph Alan and Jacob Matthew; his daughter, Rebecca Lynn; and his sisters, Lynda Woolverton and Michele Amason.

John Graduated from the University of Houston as an electrical engineer and developed software for a score of companies and government agencies for over 40 years. Some of his employers include various start-ups and multinational corporations, such as a 9-month stay in Saudi Arabia for Aramco. Other employers range from such diverse arenas as the Houston Police Department, the FBI, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Southwest Airlines (his fave!…), Geico Insurance, Landmark Graphics, Excel, DXC Next Gen, many various oil and gas companies, The Bureau of Reclamation, and held a Top Secret clearance from every single branch of the U.S. Armed Services.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he served diligently in several positions–his favorite being Scoutmaster. He was most often found working in a church office as a clerk. He was a loving, faithful, and dutiful husband, a father and brother to his last breath. His quiet goodness will be dearly missed.

Memorial Services for Johnny Max Amason will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 12:00 (noon) at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, The Colorado Building located at 8150 South Colorado Blvd. Highlands Ranch, Colorado 80130. All are welcome to attend.
