Jon Eric Reinhard passed away suddenly in his home in Indian Hills, Colorado, on January 1, 2017, the cause believed to be cardiac arrest. He lived his life with great joy and passion believing that relationships matter. Jon's family and friends frequently received big bear hugs from this big man with the big heart. He was born in Denver, Colorado, on September 25, 1960, and grew up in Mason, OH. Jon earned his Bachelor of Science (1982) and Master of Science (1986) degrees in Education at the University of Cincinnati. He was a Doctoral Candidate at U.C. (1997) and was currently pursuing his long-awaited dream of earning the Ph.D. through The Graduate Theological Foundation. Jon was a consummate educator having served the field as a coach, teacher, administrator, consultant, non-profit educator and currently as the Chief Innovation Officer at Share Fair Nation. His passion for education led him to work across the United States as well as internationally in urban, rural, and suburban locales. Jon was a strong advocate for the underprivileged and had a heart for rural educators and developing future leaders. Jon raised his family in Mason, OH, and moved to Columbus, OH, in 2001 upon his marriage to Mary Jo. They moved to Colorado in 2013 fulfilling their dream of enjoying life in the foothills. He loved his family dearly and was so proud of his five grand-children with three more on the way. Jon was an avid reader, loved to travel, was taking up yoga, enjoyed fly fishing and the great outdoors camping with his wife and friends. Sharing good food and wine with others was also a great pleasure. He was strong in his faith and has gone to be with his Lord and Savior. Jon was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Hope (McCullough) Reinhard; father, Kenneth Robert Reinhard; brother, Kenneth; and sister, Lynne. He is survived by his wife Mary Jo (Farley) Reinhard; the mother of his daughters Clara Harkavy; daughters Erica (Harry) Schneider, Amber (Zachary) Book, and Blythe (Kevin) Mack; step-daughters Jessica and Dana Paugh; grand-children Eva, Hank, and Lucille Schneider, Oliver Book, and Rory Mack; siblings Paul (Cathy) Reinhard and children, Kenny, Heath, and Courtney, Renee (Drew) Hunt and children, Hayden and Clara, and Greg (Marsha) Reinhard and children, Gavin and Rylee; Beautiful Aunt Teresa (Jim) Swagerty and Aunt Evelyn Bichler, Uncle Mike (Amy) Simpkins and Uncle Richard Reinhard, and cousins; step-mother Brenda Reinhard and step-siblings. A celebration of life for Jon will be held at The Chapel at Red Rocks, 905 Bear Creek Avenue, Morrison, Colorado 80465. The chapel sits at Entrance #3 of Red Rocks Park. Ceremony to be held on January 6th, 2017. Calling Hours will be from 12 until 2 pm, with the Celebration of Life to begin at 2 pm. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, 171 Mason-Montgomery Rd., Mason, OH, on Saturday, January 14th, 2017 at 11:30am.
