Jonathan Stern

In his 59 years, Jonathan Stern was a true renaissance man - the world's best cook, a skilled aviator, a brilliant mind, a world traveler, a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a hero. Most importantly he taught us the joy of living life to the fullest. Born on April 17, 1963, Jon was the personification of devotion and took every action he could to make a positive impact in others' lives. Growing up in Los Gatos, California, he joined the Air Force as a fighter pilot in 1985. 12 years later, he transitioned to commercial airlines where he traveled the world, creating a lasting legacy commanding the skies as a 787 pilot.

The unconditional love Jon had for his family will be carried on by his wife of 33 years, Lesly, and his daughters, Taylor (30) and Alex (28). Even in the end, he was smiling and sharing his heart with them by his side. The family says it will be hard to imagine holidays and special days without his humor, compassion, and classic "Jon" wisdom. They know he's always watching over them (and their beloved pets) from his final resting place.
