Joni R. Garel

Joni R. Garel, 86, of Lakewood passed away on March 14, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 8, 1933 in Fifield, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Timothy and Helen (Glass) O'Connor. She ended up in Colorado in her late 20's and that is where she spent the rest of her life.

Joni was employed as a secretary for many years until she was hired at the Gorsuch-Kirgis law firm where she became a paralegal and worked until her retirement.

She enjoyed golfing, quilting and crocheting.

She raised four children and is preceded in death by her son, Ralph in 2013, as well as her husband Ralph Grisham in 1962.

She is survived by her brother Timothy O'Connor, Sister in law Jennifer O'Connor, daughters, Shawn Fuller, Dawn ""Shelly"" England and her husband, Robert Remmick, Son James Baer, granddaughter, Shelby England and her fiancé Dustyn Phelps, Grandsons, Kyle England and wife Tonnya England, JR Baer, Steven Baer, and Christopher Grisham and her great-granddaughter, Novalee Phelps.

Joni was a very loved human being and will be missed terribly.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 6:00 pm -8:00 pm at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Lakewood, CO 80227. Burial will take place on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 11:00 am at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd. Denver, CO 80235.
