Jonathan Lind Rodin, my beloved husband, best friend, and the most wonderful father to our son, Erik, and doting grandfather to Penelope, passed away on February 22, 2024, just shy of his 74th birthday. Born on December 19, 1950, Jon lived a life that was as full and robust as the great outdoors he so loved. A proud veteran, Jon served in the U.S. Navy until he was honorably discharged, embodying the values of dedication and service throughout his life.

Jon's career journey began with the simple, yet noble trade of carpentry. His hands, strong and sure, could craft beauty from wood, a testament to his patience and skill. Over the years, his hard work and passion propelled him through the ranks to become a respected Senior Construction Manager. His legacy in this field is not just in the structures he helped build, but in the lives he shaped and inspired along the way.

But to know Jon was to know his true passions: hunting, fishing, and shooting sports. These were not mere hobbies but a way of life, a means to connect with nature and the simpler truths of life. His eyes would light up with the mention of a fishing rod or the prospect of a hunting trip, and his enthusiasm was infectious.

Jon was a storyteller, often regaling us with tales of his adventures and misadventures in the great outdoors. His sense of humor was as legendary as his aim; he could find the lightness in any situation, bringing laughter and joy to those around him. It was this blend of humor and warmth that made every moment with him a treasure.

Above all, Jon was a family man. His devotion to us, his family, was his guiding star. He loved nothing more than spending time with us, whether it was teaching Erik how to cast a line, sharing his wisdom and love for the outdoors, or simply enjoying quiet moments together. His love for our granddaughter Penelope knew no bounds, and he delighted in every moment spent with her, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Jon is survived by me, his loving wife Judy, our son Erik, and our granddaughter Penelope. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and the beauty of the natural world he adored.

In lieu of flowers, Jon would have appreciated contributions to conservation efforts or veterans' support organizations, causes close to his heart. As we bid farewell to this incredible man, let's honor his memory by living fully, loving deeply, and always finding time for a little bit of humor along the way. Jon, you may have left us too soon, but your spirit and love will forever guide us. Rest in peace, dear husband, father, and grandfather. Your legacy will continue to inspire all who knew you.
