Jose ""Joe"" Isidor Gomez

Jose (Joe) Isidor Gomez, age 72, died in Lakewood, Colorado on February 17, 2017. Born May 15, 1944 in Trinidad, Colorado, he lived in Littleton, Colorado and worked as an RTD Bus Driver until retiring in 1993. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Cynthia Fay Olivas Gomez, Littleton, CO, Dora Lovato, Trinidad, CO, Barbara Lovato, Denver, CO and Charles (Jane) Gomez, Lakewood, CO. Jose was preceded in death by his parents Eduardo Gomez and Manuelita Lopez, Siblings Ernie Gomez (Rose), Margaret (Bob) Ruybal, Emma (John) Apodaca, Louie Gomez, Richard Gomez and Madeline Barela. Jose loved to camp, fish and hunt; once the weather started to change around his birthday we would start out our camping/fishing trips at Lake John. He would love to attend all the genealogy conferences in New Mexico and learn about his family history and meet others. He was a very social person, always made a friend in line or wherever we were. Jose loved his Mexican music and to dance. He had a very big heart and caring soul. He lived his life how he chose and didn't care what others thought, he made sure he kept in touch with everyone in the family. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2017, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227. Burial will be at Carpio Longsdale Catholic Cemetery, Trinidad, CO on a later date. Relatives and friends are welcome at the reception following the Memorial Service at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227.
