Joseph G. Becerra

Joseph G. Becerra, 86, passed away November 28, 2010 in Lakewood, CO after being hospitalized for 7 weeks. He was born in Dacono, CO into a family of 9 children. Joseph joined the Calvary in Ft. Bliss, TX at age 16, then into the Infantry at the beginning of WWII. Joe was a 24 year veteran of the Army, retiring as a MSG E-7 at the age of 41. He went on to work for Coors Construction, retiring after 15 years. In the early 80's he moved to Salida where he never knew a stranger. He was always upbeat and full of life. He is survived by son Rockey and daughter Kaylo; granddaughters Jill and Tina; great grandchildren Katelind, Holden and Rylee; sisters Sybil and Valentina and brother, Valdimar. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, grandson Chadd and great grandson Ryland. He is loved and will be sorely missed.
