Joseph Michael Brennan was born on February 28, 1950 in Chicago, IL. Joeâs parents were George Henry Brennan and Norma Mae neeâ McDonald Brennan. George and Norma had 7 children: Michael, Susan, Sandra, Patrick, Martin, Joseph and Kevin. Joe served in the United States Navy from October 4, 1968 to October 2, 1972. Joe was a Vietnam Vet and did tours of duty in New Zealand and Australia, as well as Hong Kong. Joe met his wife, Nancy, in Long Beach, California. After being discharged from the Navy, they started a life together in Chesterton, IN. Joe worked in a steel mill to support the family. They had four boys and quickly began their busy lives. Nancyâs faith prompted Joe to examine his beliefs and he ultimately became a Lutheran. It wasnât long before Joeâs faith led him to become a Pastor. Joe served as Pastor to 3 congregations: First Trinity in Pittsburgh, PA; Beautiful Savior in Broomfield, CO and Risen Christ in Arvada, CO before retiring in September 2017. Joeâs life was a culmination of love and kindness to everyone he met. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, and four sons: Stephen (Molly), Timothy (Theresa), Daniel (Kate) and Dennis (Becky), as well as 6 grandchildren (Grace, Lucy, Nora, Jack, Danny and Lily) and 5 of his 6 siblings, as well 11 nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Family Room at Horan & McConaty, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 22 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4225 West Yale Avenue, Denver, Colorado. A Committal Service will be on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 10:00AM at Fort Logan National Cemetery (staging area A), 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, Colorado.
