Joseph Anthony Burke

Joseph Anthony Burke, 75 of Aurora, Colorado passed away February 13, 2019. He was born on August 23, 1943 to his parents Marie Veronica Burke and Joseph Allyousis Burke in Denver, Colorado.

He is survived by his wife: Sandra (Sandy) Burke, son: George, grandson: Vincent, great-granddaughter: Maddison and siblings: Jim, John and Judy.

Following high school, Joe continued his journey by joining the Army, and further receiving two years of college. During his working career, he pursued law enforcement, where he served with the Glendale Police Department for several years. Joe worked as the director of maintenance in the Sheridan School District and later worked at the Allied Jewish Apartments as the director of maintenance.

Joe volunteered his time teaching with the Police Athletic League. During his free time, he would enjoy fishing, scuba diving with his family, traveling as well as drinking good beers and wines.

In memory of Joe, a Funeral Service will be held 2:00PM, Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home (11150 East Dartmouth Ave. Aurora, CO 80014). Reception to follow 4:00PM at Senior Ric’s (13200 E Mississippi Ave, Aurora, CO 80012). Graveside service, 10:15AM, Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Fort Logan National Cemetery Staging Area ""C"".
