Joseph M. Elliott

September 8, 1945 — March 21, 2020

Joseph M. Elliott, age 74, died on Saturday March 21, 2020. Joe was born to Anthony and Wilma Elliott on September 8, 1945. He grew up in Adams City, Colorado where his family farmed and raised carnations. He went to Adams City High School where he met Gladys DeSantis. They were married in June of 1965. In 1972, Joe and Gladys moved into the home they built on Lowell Boulevard. He was self-employed for over 35 years, growing carnations, bedding plants, and other greenhouse crops. He started working for the City of Westminster in 1998 at the Big Dry Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. After 18 years of service as a Senior Maintenance Worker he retired from the City in 2016.

Joe is survived by his wife Gladys; his children Toni Doukas (Tony), Christina Baker and Joseph Elliott; and his grandchildren Annalisa, Melina, George and Alexis Doukas, Audrey Baker, and Emily, Joseph and Michael Elliott. He is also survived by his sister, Shirlie Faour (Houston, TX), and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents, and brother William Elliott preceded him in death.

His grandchildren brought him his greatest joy and he loved having them around at every opportunity. They loved hearing his stories and sharing a laugh about the many antics in his life. Always good natured with a caring heart, his hearty laugh, good cooking and love of all things family will be greatly missed.

Due to the current health concerns linked with COVID-19 the family will be holding private services at this time. Please know that public services will be held at a later date. Thank you for your understanding.
