Joe P. Ferguson

July 24, 1938 — March 13, 2025

Greenwood Village, CO

Joe P. Ferguson, 86, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025. Born on July 24, 1938, Joe grew up with a passion for golf. He attended Northeastern Oklahoma on a golf scholarship, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Joe began his career working for the U.S. Air Force at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, where he met the love of his life, Corinne. The two married and later moved to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, where they welcomed their three children. In 1972, Joe and his family settled in Colorado, where they raised their family. While working for the Air Force at the Air Force Accounting and Finance Center at Lowry Air Force Base he received the Meritorious Civilian Service Award. After 32 years of civil service, Joe retired in 1993.

Joe was a devoted sports fan, cheering for all of Denver’s teams, but his heart belonged to the Denver Broncos. A true Oklahoma Sooners football enthusiast, he faithfully listened to their games on the radio in the 1980s when they weren’t televised.

Joe is survived by his three children, Steffanie, Paul, and Kevin, as well as his seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Corinne, in 2005.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Risen Christ Catholic Church. Flowers may be sent to Horan & McConaty, 11150 E Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, CO 80014. (303) 745-4418.
