His Dad blindfolded him and took him for a ride and they ended up at the Bicycle shop and he purchased a brand new bike for him. Joe's sister Val, her husband Ed and they four children has always been important part of his life. Many fun family times up at the cabins at Pine, Co. He has had season tickets since 1966 and spent many Saturday's with his Brother-in-law Ed in Boulder. His best Saturday ever was when CU whopped Nebraska 62 to 36. He loved college ball and could launch into 'Ëstats 'Ë about his favorite teams that make your head spin. In 1993 he retired from his job, but later worked as a Security Guard at the White Fence Farm. Don't tell the Wilson's but his Grandson Nicholas changed the name to 'Papa's farm.' He loved to take his grandchildren over to see the animals and play on the slide. His grandchildren Nicholas and Ireland were the sunshine of his life. He sometimes called them 'Nick and Irish'. He has spent many hours watching them ride their scooters, playing Checkers or playing Sorry with them. He is survived by his wife Zella (Zee), his daughter Jennifer, son Joe and two grandchildren Nicholas and Ireland, his sister Valerie, several nieces and nephews. Joe's family are long term residents of the Denver area and he has several cousins on both sides of his family that live in the metro area.
