Joseph ""Joe"" Julia

Joe, 64, of Arvada, Colorado passed April 25, 2016. Joe was born to Walter & Stella Julia, on January 18, 1952, in Mount Vernon, New York. He was raised in Howell, New Jersey where he attended Land O' Pines Middle School and graduated from Howell High School in 1970. Joe and Linda were married on June 11th 1972 in Freehold, New Jersey. He was called to serve in the United States Army as part of the last draft. He entered the service immediately after he and Linda married. They relocated to Fort Riley, Kansas. During that time, they visited Rocky Mountain National Park and knew they had found their permanent home in Colorado. After discharge, they moved to Arvada where they raised their family. Joe co-owned and operated his plumbing and heating business in Lakewood for 27 years, which his sons were a big part of. He was very active and enjoyed playing and coaching softball, spending time outdoors, playing multiplayer Call of Duty and Doom on the computer, poker with his buddies at the Ranch, and always staying busy building, fixing and remodeling anything and everything. Some of his family's fondest memories include time spent at their cabin, that Joe built with his family from the ground up in the Colorado Rockies, family vacations, and time with his grandchildren. His favorite place to vacation was Hawaii with his wife Linda. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Julia; sons, Eric and Jared, daughter in law Fiorella Julia; grandsons, Korbin and Marcel Julia, the lights of his life; siblings, Walter and Linda Julia and Sandra and Edward Eppler; nephews, Eddie, Wally, Michael, Kevin and Brian Eppler and Jason and Brian Julia; mother in law, Marjorie Betlow; and sister in law, Kathie Betlow. A Memorial Service honoring Joe will be Saturday, April 30, 2016, beginning at 11:00 AM, with a reception immediately following from 12:00 - 2:30 PM, both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, in Arvada, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations be made in Joe's name to either of the following organizations.
