Joseph Patrick Lenihan

Joseph Patrick ""Joe"" Lenihan was born in Boulder, Colorado June 8, 1932 to Joseph Patrick Lenihan, Sr. and Viola Ruth (Black)Lenihan, and passed away at his home in Denver on June 24, 2014 at age 82. Joe was married to Mary Arno at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Boulder on July 9, 1960. Joe served in the United States Navy and was one of the first Navy Seals. He worked for Western Electric and retired from Qwest after 41 years. Joe was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minster and was a member of the Men's Club. Joe is survived by his wife Mary, children Larry Lenihan, Sue McBride and her husband Michael, James Lenihan and Cathy Lenihan. He is also survived by his sister Patricia Ann Kettering and her husband Kent, grandchildren, Christine McBride, Michelle McBride, Dustin Herberman, Ryan Herberman and his nieces and nephews, Michael John Arno, Elizabeth Arno, David Arno, Jennifer Arno and Sean Kettering. Visitation will be Monday, June 30, 4PM - 8PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel 3020 Federal Blvd. Recitation of the Rosary, followed by the Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, July 1, 11AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 7595 Federal Blvd. in Westminster. The Committal Service will be Thursday, July 3, 11AM at Mountain View Cemetery, 3016 Kalmia Avenue in Boulder.
