Joseph F. Lindsay

Joseph Fletcher Lindsay Jr. was born on June 19, 1940 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Joseph Fletcher Lindsay Sr. and Katherine Ann Lindsay. He, along with his sister Barbara Ann Raskay were raised in Philadelphia. Upon graduating from Father Judge High School, Joe enlisted in the Air Force. He spent 12 years in the service as a missile expert, Electrical Engineer and teacher. While he was in the service, he met Marilyn Schlereth. They married and had four daughters. Joe left the Air Force after 12 years, he and his family settled in Aurora, Colorado where he started his career as an Electrical Engineer. Joe was diagnosed with neck and throat cancer in June of 2016. He fought hard, but lost the battle on November 12, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, his four daughters, Laura (Ron) Dunston, Terri (Jim) Calvin, Patty (Brandan) Baca and Debbie Engebretson; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The service for Joe will be held on Monday, November 21 beginning with a mass at Lady of Loretto Catholic Church on Arapahoe Rd at 10:00 a.m. Following the mass there will be a processional to Ft. Logan where there will be a short military service. After the military service, a lunch reception will be held at The Rock Restaurant in Aurora. Flowers may be sent the day prior to the service to Horan McConaty located on E Dartmouth Pl. in Aurora, CO Donations in Joe Lindsay's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
