Joseph ""Joe"" Allen McAfee, 66 of Denver, Colorado passed away peacefully June 13, 2019 with his family by his side. He was born February 1, 1953 to Dorothy and Jim McAfee.
Joe attended Manuel High School where he later graduated. He was so talented athletically, that he played All State High School Football. Joe went on to own several car washes through the years and later retired after a very successful career.
His family will fondly remember him for his quick wit and sharp tongue. Joe had a wicked sense of humor that he would share with anyone he encountered. He was generous to a fault and would do anything within his power to help others. He was a wonderful cook that put his heart into the soul food dishes he hand crafted for his family. During his free time, Joe enjoyed recreating recipes inspired by his favorite Food Network shows, antiquing, watching sports especially Broncos football, western movies, and most of all, spending time with his family. He will truly be missed.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife: Sylvia McAfee, loving children: Sonia (Robert) Thompson, Yolynda McAfee, Felicia (Ralph) Ford, Khala (Wesley) McAfee-Duke and Joseph McAfee II, grandchildren: Mario McAfee, Andrea Sommons, Erykah Smith, Spensir Smith, Kennedi Duke, Kingston Duke, and Khaley Duke, great-grandchildren: Deon McAfee, Magdalena Sare, and Kratos Wright.
Joe is the brother of: Yolanda Collins, Larry Brown, Carylon Sherman, Alvin McAfee, Rodney James McAfee.
In honor of Joe, a Memorial Service will be held 1:00PM, Saturday June 22, 2019 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home (1091 S Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80246).
