Joseph R. Becky MD, age 92, died in Denver at his home on October 30, 2018.
Born March 20, 1926 in Butte, Montana to Joseph and Fannie (Macky) Becky. Joe was drafted into the Army in 1944. He served with the 96th Infinity division 321st Engineer Reconnaissance section, in Okinawa, Minora and Manilla, Philippines Islands. He was honorably discharged and appointed to Annapolis in 1946. Joe graciously declined to attend medical school at Creighton University in Omaha where he graduated in 1953 with his Doctorate in Medicine. It was there that he met the love of his life, Anita Marie Mejstrik. They were married in 1953 in Howells, Nebraska then moved to Denver to start their life. They shared medicine, ranching, raising dogs and love of family and community.
Joseph was the medical director and owner of Park Hill Clinic. General Occupational and Aviation Medicine Associates then followed. Joe was also the Corporate Director at Frontier Airlines and Frontier Horizons, developing their medical Department. Dr. Becky was a Senior FAA Medical Examiner for over 40 years. He was also a proud member of the National Western Stock Show Association, American Buffalo Association, Colorado and Denver Medical Association, Aerospace Medical Association, Past Director of Keycare, Past Board of Directors â Good Will Industries. Joseph was also a devoted member of the catholic church and supported his community and many philanthropic organizations.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years Anita Becky, daughter Brandis Becky, son-in-law Steven Pelletier, grandchildren Kai and Sloan Pelletier all of Denver and his loving sister Joyce Donovan of Atlanta, Georgia.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Fannie Becky.
Relatives and friends are welcome at Horan & McConaty 1091 S. Colorado Boulevard, CO 80246 for visitation at 5pm and Rosary at 6pm November 8th, 2018. Celebration of life service will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 860 Elm St. Denver, CO 80202, November 9th at 10:30 am with reception to follow.
Joe will be laid to rest at Ft. Logan with friends and family on November 12, 2018.
