Joseph Patrick Murray, 58, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on August 27, 2020 in Parker, Colorado.
Joe was born in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, to Henry and Audrienne Murray on March 19, 1962. He graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School, and later graduated from Michigan State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Communication.
Joe had an affable, one of a kind, loving personality and enjoyed the company of countless friends and loved ones throughout his life. Joe was a natural athlete and gifted tennis player, having held a national ranking.
He eventually moved to Colorado to begin his professional career. He married the love of his life, Regina Ryland, on February 9, 1990, in Denver, Colorado. Together they raised four loving daughters.
Joe had a successful career as a top sales executive in the Denver metro area. He was an enthusiastic philanthropist for a wide variety of community causes including the Mackinac Island Community Foundation, The Rise School of Denver, and the Joe and Gina Murray Charitable Fund at the Denver Foundation.
First and foremost, Joe was a family man and a sincere friend to all. Joe is survived by his wife, Gina; his four daughters all residing in Denver, Colorado: Megan (Connor) Richards, Rachel, Ana, and Joey. He is also survived by his sister, Renu (Michael) O’Connell of Bath, Maine, and his brothers, Stephen (Anne) of Petoskey, Michigan, Brian (Colleen) of E. Lansing, Michigan, and Jim (Trish) of Petoskey, Michigan as well as Henry’s second wife Maria Murray of Vero Beach, Florida. Joe’s twelve nieces and nephews will dearly miss their favorite uncle.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Audrienne Murray, and brother John Henry “Hank” Murray.
A rosary will be said at 1 p.m. and a celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Ashley Ridge by Wedgewood in Littleton, Colorado. A burial service will be held on Mackinac Island, Michigan, at a later date, a place where Joe enjoyed his summers as a fifth generation Islander.
