Josephine C. Deschner

Josephine C. Deschner died May 5, 2005. She married Vern Martin Deschner in March, 1950. She has been a member of Alpha Xi Chapter of Alpha Zeta Beta sorority (the oldest nonacademic sorority in the U.S. founded in 1897) since 1942, serving as chapter president three times and national president two years. While living at DESCI, she served as secretary and president of the council. Prior to her death she had been active in promoting Serenity Retreats, acting as captain for nine years at Sacred Heart Jesuit Retreat House, Sedalia. In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Martin and John (Susan); daughter Mary Hawk; grandson Matthew, granddaughter Tori Jo and two nephews, Mike and Charles McGinn. Visitation, Sunday, 2-4:00 PM, Funeral Mass, Monday, 10:30 AM both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd. Interment, Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
