Josephine Victoria was born on March 19, 1946, in Denver, Colorado and passed peacefully on June 13, 2024, in Wheelock, Vermont surrounded by her husband and family.
Josephine, known as Jay, married Frank Jaramillo in 1966 and together they had 3 children: Audrey, Frank, and Christopher.
Eventually they moved to Arvada, Colorado where she began working for the Jefferson County School District for the Human Resources department where she played a key role in the hiring of teachers for the district.
Upon retiring to the Villages in Florida, she spent most days relaxing by the pool, on the golf course, playing cards or hanging out with the many friends they made there.
Jay was known for always putting the interests of others before her own. She could always make a person smile and knew how to be the much-needed shoulder to lean on for so many of us. She was an attentive mother who loved her children more than life itself, and avidly supported them from birth all the way up through adulthood.
As her own children became parents, her love and giving nature only continued to grow into the role of grandma. Being a grandma was one of her favorite things in life.
Our mom loved dancing and always encouraged us kids to dance. We have many fond memories of her dancing in the house and the town squares of the Villages in Florida.
“Sparkly” is a good word to describe our mom. Whether it was her jewelry, clothing, smile, or personality, she Sparkled!
Our mom was kind and humble, gentle and strong, wise and very much loved.
She is survived by her husband Frank, daughter Audrey, sons Frank and Chris, 10 grandchildren, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
