Joshua Tyler Smith tragically left us on August 6, 2022. He was loved, is missed, and will forever live in our hearts. Joshua was proud to have been born and raised in the South Side of Denver. He grew up playing baseball and football, and on these fields, he met his lifelong brothers that he loved with his whole heart. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, camping, and hunting. Despite his knack for getting bit, he had a flair for animals. From the hairless baby squirrel that fell out of the tree, to the 6 leopard geckos he saved from Scales n’ Tails, he was passionate about rescuing the ones in need. Joshua adored his sons and his nieces. He shared a unique bond with each of them that they will surely miss. Joshua had an off the wall sense of humor, a big personality, and an even bigger heart. If he loved you, you knew it without doubt. He didn’t always express his love in words, he loved to tease, and a well-planned shock & awe gave him so much pleasure. Getting a rise out of his mom and his sister was probably his favorite pastime. One thing is for certain, there was never a dull moment if Josh was involved.
Joshua is survived by his three sons Joshua Jr. (7 yrs), Anthony (3 yrs), and Jesse (7 yrs) (Alyssa Archibeque). His significant other Savannah Merrow. His parents Robbie Smith and Brenda Vallejos. His sister Kirstyn (Miko). His nieces Miah, Nayeli and Aiyana. His grandparents Alvin & Madeline Vallejos and JoAnne Neve (Bob). His Godparents Tim Vallejos and Stacie Vallejos (Jeremy). His aunt Kathy Robinson (Jeff). His cousins Amy, Ashley (Jody), Justin, Shea, John (Trish), Jenny (Ryan) and numerous great-aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Joshua is preceded in death by his brother (cousin) Anthony Vallejos. His great-grandparents Tony & Mary Barba, Leo & Lucy Vallejos, Harry & Jewell Rowe. His grandfather Charles Smith and his uncles Kenneth White & Rodney Smith.
Please share memories and condolences with Josh's family by signing the Tribute Wall.
