Joslyn âJoâ King was called home by her Lord on August 9, 2017. She was 81 years old. Joslyn Baker was born in Hess, Oklahoma, on October 3, 1935. She was the baby of the family, the youngest of five children by 10 years. Although she was close to her sisters Faye and Darlene, and extremely fond of her brother Sam, it was her sister Helen who held an especially dear place in her heart. While her mother and father worked the small family farm, it was Helen who primarily cared for little Jo. The family eventually moved to Duncan, Oklahoma, and Jo always referred to this small prairie town as âhome.â She graduated from Duncan High School with honors in 1953. Soon after, she moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, to live with her sister Helen and work as a bookkeeper. Jo met Loren King, her one and only love, at the Fort Collins Church of Christ, and they were married on June 20, 1954. Jo and Loren were blessed with three children: Sharon, Bryan, and Teresa (Teri). Jo was a stay at home Mom for most of the childrenâs growing years. Although Lorenâs employment moved them to Oregon, Wyoming, and California, the family resided the longest in Colorado. When the children were older, she returned to bookkeeping, working for a chiropractor, a drug store, and a bank where she held various positions of increasing responsibility. At the time of her retirement, she was employed as a technical writer at Rocky Flats, a former nuclear weapons production facility near Denver undergoing decommissioning, cleanup and closure. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband. She is survived by her children Sharon Kiss (Charles) of Broomfield Colorado, Bryan King of Tampa Florida, and Teresa Turner (Brady) of Meridian Idaho, as well as granddaughters Jennifer Welham and Melissa Welham, great-grandson Ethan Holzrichter, and great-granddaughter Audrey Holzrichter. Memorial Service will be Saturday, September 2, 2017, 2 PM at Good News Church, 5511 West 136th Avenue, Broomfield, CO 80020. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joslynâs honor to The Michael J.
