Joy Christensen Arscott passed away peacefully on September 15, 2016 in Boulder, Colorado at the age of 68. Joy is survived by four children: Chris Arscott, Eric (Sherri) Arscott, Heather Phonthongsy, David (Becca) Arscott, and fifteen grandchildren. Her mother Phyllis Christensen, sisters Cheryl C. (Vaun) Bethers, Jan (Val) Gines, and Brother Paul (Karen) Christensen. She is preceded in death by her father, Garold Christensen and Grandparents, Hyrum and Lila Christensen and JW ""Bill"" and DeEsta Jordan. Joy was born December 22, 1947 in Heber City, Utah. She graduated Wasatch High School in 1966. After graduating high school, Joy attended Dixie College in St. George, UT and later attended Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. Joy was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served the single adults of the LDS church in the Denver area. Joy loved to provide service, volunteered in the community, and served in many rolls throughout her life. She has touched the hearts of countless people and strived to bring joy into others' lives. In 2008, Joy was diagnosed with breast cancer that later went into remission after treatment. In the spring of 2016, a re-occurrence of breast cancer ultimately took her from us and sent her back home. In lieu of flowers, the family would request a donation be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (bcrfcure.org) on her behalf.
