Joyce Harriet Alexander

September 8, 1937 — June 11, 2015

Joyce Harriett Alexander was born in Edmond, OK on September 8, 1937 to Harry and Joyce Taylor. Her siblings were Tom Taylor, Xandra Brown & Richard Taylor. Joyce had a wonderful childhood growing up in the small town of Edmond, riding horses and playing in the family home. She attended University of Oklahoma for 1 year & Oklahoma Women's College for 1 year in Chickasha, OK, where she lived with her Aunt Jessie. While attending OCW, she enjoyed college life as a young lady. It was during her time in college she met Charles D. Alexander. She was introduced to Charles by her sister and brother-in-law. She married Charles on August 9, 1957, in Oklahoma City, OK. When first married, they lived in Wyoming. Joyce always called Wyoming God's last outpost. They moved back to Oklahoma for a brief period, but soon after Joyce and Charles moved to Longmont, Colorado where all 4 of their children were born. Joyce lived the majority of her life in Colorado as a homemaker who raised their 4 children. During those years, she chauffeured and cheered at more than her fair share of events for all 4 children. She was vital to the success of her husband's cattle business including the original design of the Aristocrat Angus Ranch logo. She was a big support to him by hosting many cattle sales as well as parties and events. Joyce had her own successful skin care business. She enjoyed going to church, reading, watching movies, golfing and bowling. She loved traveling with her husband for the cattle shows for many years, relished fun trips with her husband and friends, and enjoyed the many family vacations throughout the US, Canada and Mexico. Joyce was an avid oil painter, as well as a Broncos and University of Oklahoma football fan. She's known for loving the music of George Strait and Pavarotti and being an animal lover, especially horses. Joyce is survived by her 4 children, Charles Alexander, Jr., Tamara Alexander-Johnson, Sandra Alexander & Scott Alexander; her 2 daughters-in-law, Elise Alexander and Terry Alexander; her Son-in-law Corey Johnson; and her 5 Grandchildren, Tyler Alexander, Megan Alexander, Bryce Johnson, Braden Alexander & Caroline Alexander. Joyce will be greatly missed. She's now in heaven with her cowboy, watching over all of us. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent, In Memory of Joyce H. Alexander, The Denver Hospice, 501 S.
