Joyce A. Gollhofer

Joyce A. Gollhofer, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at her residence. A native of Pierson, Iowa she was the daughter of the late William C. and Viola Huss Puttmann. Joyce graduated from Kingsley High School in 1946 and then went to work at a Battery Plant in Sioux City, Iowa. Joyce moved to Aurora, CO in 1967 and started working at May D & F department store and eventually became manager. She retired in 1987 after 19 years of service. After retirement, Joyce would volunteer every Tuesday at St. Andrews Hospitality Center serving the homeless. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and helped in taking the collection at the 7:30 AM mass. She had a servant heart and will be missed by so many. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Joseph A. Gollhofer; her siblings, Randy Puttmann, Max Puttman, Stanley Puttmann, William Puttmann and Connie Anderson.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Janeen Stanley, William Gollhofer, Lisa Gollhofer and Ronald ""Ron"" Gollhofer and his wife, Karen; grandchildren, Andrea Jutson, Kristopher Stanley, Michelle Gollhofer, Cara Little, Michael Gollhofer, Angela Gollhofer, Ryan Gollhofer and Richard Gollhofer; great-grandchildren, Chandler Jutson, Ethan Little, Wyatt Little, Ava Gollhofer and Dylan Gollhofer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Colorado Visiting Nurse Association Hospice Team and especially Erin and Tricia for the love and care shown to Joyce during her time of need.

A visitation for Joyce A. Gollhofer will be conducted on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 6:00 PM till a Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM in the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Avenue. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 13120 E. Kentucky Avenue, Aurora, CO 80012. A reception will follow at the church. A committal and entombment will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 12801 W. 44^th Ave., Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033. Active Pallbearers are Ron Gollhofer, Bill Gollhofer, Kris Stanley, Rick Gollhofer, Mike Foerster and Steve Puttman.
