Joyce R. Hildreth of Westminster, Colorado was born in Mars Hill, North Carolina on July 8, 1923. She passed away June 7, 2012 in Denver, Colorado. She was 88 years old. Joyce was the only child of John and Essie Briggs. Due to the death of her parents at an early age, Joyce was raised by her grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. Duck and Aunt Mitty who ran a small country store in Buckner County, North Carolina. Joyce worked at this country store and in local tobacco fields as a youth. Later, she became the Post Office Clerk at the family country store. After a few years of college Joyce went to work at an army base at Fort Jackson, South Carolina as a telephone operator. Later Joyce began a career in cosmetology where she acquired many close friends and customers in the Westminster area. Joyce was renowned for being an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for friends and family. She was a devoted and caring wife for her husband and mother to her children. Joyce attended and contributed to North Huron Assembly of God Church in Thornton for many years. Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Charles Hildreth and her son Charles Hildreth III. Joyce leaves one daughter Donna Flora of Yorba Linda, California. She leaves three grandchildren Bobby Flora of California, Charlie Hildreth of Westminster, CO and Diana Lee of Land O' Lakes, Florida. She leaves one great-granddaughter born to Bobby Flora. At Joyce's request the service shall be graveside and led by her longtime friend Pastor Gary Hines (retired) of North Huron Christian Center in Thornton, Colorado. At Joyce's specific request there will be no viewing. The Graveside Service for Joyce will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery located in Wheat Ridge, Colorado on June 12, 2012 at 2:00pm.
