Joyce Hudson

November 3, 1952 — October 31, 2013

Joyce (Lynette) Hudson was born to Jesse L. Hudson and Daphne (Powe) Hudson on Monday, November 3, 1952 in Holly Springs, MS. She attended grade and middle school in Meridian, MS until her family moved to Memphis, TN in the mid 1960's. In the late 1960's, her family moved to Phoenix, AZ where she graduated high school, was employed at Mountain Bell and later joined the military where she was stationed in Salt Lake City, UT. Joyce was in the United States Air Force for 5 years where she was an air traffic controller. She was honorably discharged in 1979 and moved to the city of Denver, CO. After her move to the ""mile high"" state, she worked for Sherman & Howard Law Firm. For a few years, she went into business for herself before she started employment for Lockton Insurance Brokerage where she was a faithful employee for 16 years. Joyce met Sister Betty who led her to the Lord. Sister Bernice held a bible study for 2 years and Sister Denise also attended. She fellowshipped at Anchor of Hope Church under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth Roberts. Joyce touched everyone. Her legacy is her determination and her personal relationship with the Lord. This legacy was manifested by the fact that she had many friends from all walks of life. As Paul said in his letter to Timothy, she has fought the good fight, she has finished the race, and she has kept the faith. Joyce has passed on to the Lord's side on the morning of Thursday, October 31, 2013. She was preceded in death by her mother Daphne, her father Jesse and her sister Jacqueline. She leaves behind her niece Sonja Rideout (of Ontario, CA), her brothers William Sarden (of Memphis, TN) and Gary Sarden (of Cordova, TN), her sister-in-law Deborah Sarden (also of Cordova, TN), her God-Daughters Jeannine Kazonga (of Aurora, CO) and Nancy Mahaffey (of Harrisonburg, VA), her best friends Edmond Walton, Gerri Nero, Regenia Underwood, Audra Hickman, Aubrey Dale Dixon, Lora Pritchet, Carol Kemp-Jackson (all from Denver, CO), numerous cousins, as well as a host of family and friends.
