Joyce Elaine Thies

Joyce Elaine Thies, age 76, of Parker, Colorado, passed away June 6, 2019 at Brookdale Greenwood Village attended by Denver Hospice. She was born in Willmar, Minnesota on March 2, 1943 to Olga and Vernon Holmberg.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Michael Thies of 53 years; Daughter Tamara Lynne Bond (Spouse Randall Bond) and daughter Randi Kay Maxwell (spouse Timothy Maxwell); 3 wonderful grandchildren, Timothy Bond, Connor Maxwell and Ryan Maxwell and her brother, Bradley Holmberg (Spouse Ellen); nephew Eric Holmberg and family and niece Kate McGowan and family.

Joyce graduated from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN in 1964 with her Physical Therapy degree. She worked as a Physical Therapist in California, Minnesota and Colorado and was privileged to help many people live better lives. She was a proud Navy wife while Mike was in two tours of Vietnam. She was also proud to be a homemaker while her daughters were young. She enjoyed cooking for the family, spending time in the mountains and loved living in the country east of Parker.

She will be greatly missed.

She will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery, June 19 at 11:30.
