Juanita M. Vega

May 20, 1949 — June 21, 2020

Juana M. Vega [aka Juanita], 71, of Aurora, CO, passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2020.

Juanita was born in Puerto Rico on May 20, 1949 but was raised in New York City. She wed at a young age and at 26 years old had a beautiful daughter, Athelia Marie. She became a single mom just a few years later and learned through resilience and pride to be a strong, independent women and mother.

To say the name, Juanita, is to say the words love and family. She loved her family with every fiber of her being. No matter where she was in life, she tried to attend and be part of her family’s special moments and milestones. Juanita was a shining soul always there with an encouraging word, loving arms, and a warm smile.

Climbing the cooperate ladder, she became an Underwriter for The Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (TIAA), where she served her time and retired at the young age of 62.

With the birth of her grandsons, Juanita moved from her long-term home of Brooklyn, NY, to Southern California.  And in just a few short years thereafter, would once again follow them to Colorado. Her grandsons, Ethan and Gavin quickly became her greatest pride and joy. Many a conversation dominated by her doting about her grandsons.

She was a beautiful, precious person, who will always be missed. We love you Juanita!!
