Judith Mitchell was born September 2, 1937 in Bryan, Ohio. Judith's father was a part owner of Aeroequip Manufacturing Company and her mother had a degree in Health Nutrition. At age three, her family moved to Livingston, Montana where Judith's father purchased the Mission Ranch and raised Hereford cattle. On the ranch is where she developed her values of nature and business. Later the ranch was sold and they moved to Billings, Montana where she finished high school. Judith spent two years at Colorado Women's College and then she attended Colorado University in Boulder for her third year. It was there that she met Ross Herrington and his son Jim. They married and moved to Ogden, Utah where Ross worked for the U.S. Forest Service. Judith helped raise Jim and also adopted Jim. After her divorce, Judith attended Montana State University where she obtained her degree in Business Administration. She began her working career with the Federal Highway Administration for five years and then later spent 15 years with the Bureau of Land Management as a Management Analyst. She was awarded a number of meritorious service awards. While working at the Federal Highway Administration she met Maurice and began a 40 year relationship which included marriage in 1998. She retired in 1994 and spent the remaining years traveling worldwide for bird watching. Other activities included traveling by RV throughout the U.S. and Canada. She enjoyed crocheting, basket making, stained glass, and being a proud mom. and grandmother of Jim's family. She also had a special interest in the health needs of the elderly. Judith also had a love for cats and had Matt & Casey in her life for 22 years. A Memorial Service for Judith will be held on January 2, 2017, at 1PM, at Horan & McConaty 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227.
