Judy Smilanic was born July 25, 1944, to John A. (Jack) and Carolyn Ford Maier at Langley Field, Virginia. She grew up in Parsons, Kansas and graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1962. She graduated from Mount Saint Scholastica (now Benedictine College) in 1966 with a degree in Elementary Education. She moved to Denver, Colorado after graduation and taught school. She was a district manager for Jafra Cosmetics, having worked for them for 28 years. In 1967 she married William R. Smilanic at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons, KS. He preceded her in death in November, 2000. She is survived by her children Susan and her husband Steve Stone, Kristen and Jason and his wife Jill, all of Denver. Grandchildren Jack and Shannon Stone, her mother Carolyn Maier, brothers Adam (Nancy), Mike (Stacy) and Jerry (Jackie) and a sister Martha (Stan) Brewer. Judy lived in the same home for 37 years and was an active member at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She loved her substitute teaching and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to spend time in her garden enjoying her flowers at the end of the day. She had a love of sports, mainly the Broncos and CU football, planning her days around the games. Judy cared about everyone and welcomed all to her home. She influenced many lives and was an inspiration to all.
