Judy Martinez, age 81, passed away, on July 21, 2024.
Judy was born June 1, 1943, in Denver, CO. She attended Manuel High School in Denver, CO.
On July 1, 1961, Judy married the love of her life, Joseph “Joe” Martinez where they enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Judy and Joe just celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Judy and Joe had 3 children, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Judy was a homemaker most of her life, until she worked at the Division of Wildlife where she retired from. Judy was a very loving and giving person towards all, especially her family. Judy was a jack of all trades, building things, fixing cars, etc. and if someone could not figure something out, she would come up with a way to fix it. Judy was very loyal to her faith and when she could no longer attend church her and Joe faithfully watched church together on Sundays. In Judy’s later years she loved going to Black Hawk and diamond painting, which she would share several of her paintings with others.
She is survived by her husband Joe, her daughter Diane Shirey, her daughter Nancy Duran and her husband Mike Duran, her daughter-in-law-Carla Martinez, her grandson Derek Martinez, her granddaughter, Danielle Martinez, her great grandson Tyler Martinez and her great grandson Axel Martinez. Additionally, Judy is survived by her nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Frances Herrera, son Ron Martinez, son-in-law Robert Shirey and her siblings.
