Julie Ann Erickson

January 4, 1953 — March 24, 2013

Julie Ann Erickson was born in Denver Colorado on January 4, 1953 to her proud parents Lennart and Thelma Erickson. She was quite a surprise for Lennart and Thelma. They were in their 40's and back then that was unusual to have such a bundle of joy at mid-life. I know she will get mad at us for giving her actual birthday. She always looked much younger and took pride in that fact. She passed from this existence on March 25, 2013 peacefully after a tough three year battle with colo-rectal cancer. She would want for us to pass on to all who read this to get a colonoscopy early! It would have made a difference in her life. Julie was always an active fun-loving person. She was a true hippy. For years she was an active biker and runner. She had a serious side also. She received her degree in accounting from Northern Colorado University. After passing the CPA exam she worked for Fox and Company, Diners Club, Citibank, and then Accenture. She was always very excited to tell us about a big project that she was working on. She loved her family and enjoyed her nieces and nephews and their children, since she was unable to have children herself. They became her children. She also had a special place in her heart for the many Labs in her life. Her last one was ""Sonny"" who still wonders why she is not coming through the front door. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Thelma and father Lennart and her brother-in-law Ken Tomlon. She is survived by her sister, Sherry, her brother Lennart, II, her fiancé Dave Karpa, her sister-in-law Sally, her nieces: Kimberly (Chris), Kristine (Andrew), Sara (Trask), and her nephews: Eric (Bobi), Lennart III (Lara), Isaac (Crystal), Nathan (Mandy) and Sean (Meri). Also she is now looking down on her fourteen great nieces and nephews who are crying today for the loss of their very special ""Auntie Julie"". We will celebrate her life on Friday, March 29th in a memorial at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel at 5303 East County Line Road (West of Holly) at 10:00 AM. All of her many friends are encouraged to be there. In lieu of flowers you can donate to the Colon Cancer Institute at www.ccalliance.org, 1025 Vermont Avenue, NW, Suite #1066, Washington, DC 20005. This summer her ashes will be scattered from Vail Pass to Kauai. Please share your memories of Julie and condolences with her family by signing the guestbook below.
