“This is my beloved; this is my friend.”
Song of Solomon 5:16
Julie Ann Mauro, age 66, died with early-onset Alzheimer disease in memory care on January 10, 2025.
Julie was a graduate of St. Vincent de Paul School, St. Mary’s Academy, and the University of Colorado, where she earned the Bachelor of Nursing degree.
An obituary cannot begin to capture the brilliance of the gift that was Julie. Her gentle, reassuring demeanor served her extraordinarily well in her roles as mother, wife, registered nurse, preschool teacher, and leader in the Stephen Ministry. She was a beacon of love and compassion for all of her friends and family. Her kind and generous spirit knew just what words, actions or gifts would console and lift up anyone she encountered.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; sons Adam (Erin) and Kyle Scott, and Philip Mauro; daughter, Hadley Toth (John); granddaughters Elizabeth, Emma, and Vivienne and grandson Theodore; sister, Kerry Sewczak (Jim); brothers Jerry, Tim (Becky), and Mike (Lauri); sister-in-law Grace; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marlys and Hazen Moore.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 11 AM at Pax Christi Catholic Church, 10675 Jaguar Drive, Lone Tree, CO 10675. A lunch reception will follow at the church. Interment is to be decided.
