Julius Val Sigg, 95, of Parker Colorado passed away July 2, 2020. He was born January 29, 1925 in a farming community near Alamosa in Hooper, Colorado to his immigrant parents Julius Joseph and Elizabeth Catherine Sigg. They soon after moved to Wichita, KS. where they continued to farm. Growing up his family called him Buddy. He enlisted in the the Army on May 28, 1943 at the age of 18 and served on the 789Th battalion in WWII as an Anti-Aircraft Machine Gunner. He was in the Battle of the Bulge and was honorably discharged in 1946. Julius (Bud) met Ardis Prather at The Continental Ball Room in Wichita, Kansas on March 14, 1946, they were engaged on September 17, 1946 and married on January 11, 1947.
For most of his career he was an upholsterer, first for Morgan Bulleigh in Wichita, Kansas and when he moved the family to Colorado in 1972, he joined Harry's Auto Glass in Denver, Colorado. After he retired he continued to do furniture and auto upholstery out of his home in Aurora,Colorado. Bud loved the family gatherings that were held almost every other week at their home in Aurora for 35 years where they would BBQ, play board games, cards, volleyball, and celebrate every birthday, holiday, and many other occasions. He was mostly a quiet man, but his presence was always known. He was a hard working, loving, and God fearing man who lead by example. Bud was a parishioner at St. Pius X Catholic church for 40+ years. He enjoyed playing cards and bowling. He and Ardis were members of the Eagles and the Elks Clubs where they would go dancing every Friday night and made many friends. The love of his life passed away on New Years Eve in 2016. Bud is survived by his children Stephen Sigg; Michael (Christine) Sigg; Michele "Shelly" (Kyle) Hubbart; Jeffrey (Joyce) Sigg; Lisa (Keith) Lange, Darren (Kristie) Sigg; Brian (Jamie) Sigg; 18 grandchildren, 25 Great grandchildren; 6 Great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bernardine (Benny) many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by his wife Ardis Sigg, infant son, Phillip Sigg, parents Julius Joseph and Elizabeth Catherine Sigg; sisters Ritanella (Rita), Genevieve (Jane), Aurelia (Rill), Sister Anna Mary (Anna), Lauretta (Lettie), Teresa and Margaret; brothers Gilbert (Gill) and John; daughter-in-law Kimberly Sigg and Granddaughter Amie Swank. The viewing will be held for Julius (Bud) at St. Pius Tenth Catholic Parish, 13670 E. 13th Place, Aurora, CO 80011. Rosary, Thur. July 16, 10am, Viewing 10:20am, St. Pius X Catholic Parish, 13670 E. 13th Place, Aurora, CO. followed by the Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial at 2pm at Ft. Logan Nat’l Cemetery. A reception will be held immediately following the burial, at Innsider Bar and Grill, Holiday Inn Denver Lakewood, 7390 W. Hampden Ave., Lakewood, CO. 80227.
