June Gunter

June Gunter, born on January 31, 1936, in Seibert, Colorado, to Harold (Dutch) and Meda Scheidegger, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, in Parker, Colorado, at the age of 88. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, son Doug, and parents Harold (Dutch) and Meda. She is survived by her son Scott (Natalie), sister Cheryl, grandchildren Joshua, Aaron, and Lauren and five great-grandchildren.

June graduated from East High School in Denver, Colorado. She met her beloved husband, Jim, in 1954 and was married for 35 years. She and Jim were stationed in several locations while Jim was in the Army, which included two years in Tokyo, Japan. June then began a lengthy career as a medical assistant for which she served for nearly 50 years, retiring from part-time work at age 79.

As a woman of deep faith, June found solace and joy in her church community. Her dedication to her faith and community was inspiring to all who knew her. She was a charter member of Faith Church in Aurora since 1963 and served the church in many capacities during her lifetime. 

Her love language was giving to others. She had a passion for shopping, particularly gifts for family and friends, which was unparalleled and well-known to anyone who knew her. She was also known for her humor, funny quips and never missing a birthday or anniversary.

June's life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to family and faith. Not a day went by where June did not talk about how much her family meant to her. June’s family was arguably her most important achievement in life. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege to know her, and her legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
