June Mullins

January 17, 1939 — January 19, 2019

On the Morning of January 19th, 2019 June Mullins of Golden, Colorado went to be with the Lord at the Age of 80.

June was born in Weinert, Texas on January 17th, 1939 to Mary and Dewey Anderson. She grew up in Bandera, Texas.

June attended the University of Texas where she loved being a student and furthering her education.

June married the love of her life, Bill Mullins, on June 15th, 1957. They were married in Southmayd, Texas.

June was an extremely talented seamstress. She was also an accomplished water colorist. Her paintings were shown in many art guilds throughout the State of Colorado.

June designed, made, and marketed heirloom children's clothing. Her company was called Morrow House.

She was an active member of the Lakewood Church of Christ in Lakewood, Colorado. She has attended with her husband Bill for 30 years. June hosted an annual Christmas tea for the elderly women of her congregation for 13 years. The ladies looked so forward to attending every year and appreciated June’s hospitality.

June was a member of Bible Study Fellowship for 13 years and served as a group leader for many of those years.

June and Bill lived in Nuremburg, Germany while Bill served in the military.

After returning to the states, they moved to Chickasha, OK where they became friends with Jim Smith who was an elder in their church.

Later, Jim Smith ran for Congress from Oklahoma and asked June, then 26 years old, to head-up his campaign. She accepted the challenge and later, Congressman Jim Smith invited June to Washington, DC where she was introduced to many governmental officials including the President of the United States.

She had many hobbies to include gardening, sewing, and painting. She was an avid reader and lover of books.

June is survived by her husband, Bill Mullins of Golden, Colorado; children, Katie (Clay) Keeling of Golden, Colorado, Sam (Kristi) Mullins of Nashville, Tennessee, and Adam (April) Mullins of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson who all brought her so much joy.

She is survived by one sister, Gayle (Alton) Anderwald of Burnet,Texas... June loved to travel there to spend time and be with her.

Her Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on February 2nd, 2019 at Lakewood Church of Christ, 455 S Youngfield Ct, Lakewood, CO 80228.
