June Beverly Tubbesing passed away in Denver Colorado on April 5, 2006 at the age of 88. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, super mom, and proud grandmother, as well as a tireless worker for her church and community! June was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on January 14, 1918 to Victor and Borghild Storberg. After graduating from Macalister College in St. Paul, June began work as a medical technician as well as assisting her father and two uncles, Richard and Carl, all dentists. Things changed dramatically on March 8, 1940, however, when she headed west to marry her college sweetheart, Harold Tubbesing at the Wee Kirk Of The Heather Chapel in Los Angeles, California. They settled nearby in South Pasadena to raise their 3 children and built a marriage that was to last 65 years! Besides her busy family life, June devoted much of her time to the South Pasadena United Methodist Church, planning weddings, organizing rummage sales, teaching classes, welcoming visitors, cooking up potluck dinners, and playing the piano. She also accompanied community singing at the Silver Triangle Club, and served as an officer in the Kappa Delta and PEO organizations. She enjoyed English horse jumping as a youth, her South Pas swimming buddies, home cooking for the 'gang', and especially traveling with her 'hubbie'. June was preceded in death by Harold, just 8 months ago, as well as her younger brother Victor Storberg Jr, several years ago. Survivors include her 'little sister' Evelyn Buetow of Silver Bay, MN and children Roger Tubbesing of San Diego, CA, John Tubbesing of Seal Beach, CA, and Linda Coombe of Lakewood, CO. Also grand children Victor Tubbesing and Sarah Tubbesing as well as Dan and Ashley Coombe and Joseph and Betsy Parker whose baby daughters Emma and Abigail recently made June a very happy great-grandmother! A memorial service will be held April 30, 2006 at 3 PM at the Chapel at Horan and McConaty, 3101 South Wadsworth Blve., Lakewood, CO 80227.
