Jung Ok Kim

February 11, 2024, Jung Ok Kim, 83, of Aurora, CO has passed away peacefully in her sleep at home with her beloved husband, Seok Sang Kim, by her side.

 Jung Ok was born on December 21, 1940, in Daegu, South Korea. Jung Ok and Seok Sang married on December 25, 1963. They had three children, Eric, Christie, and Michelle. The family immigrated to Houston, TX, USA, on August 1982, eventually moving to beautiful Colorado in 1984. There she stayed, raised her family, managed successful small businesses, and actively participated in the community. And, America was where Jung Ok found her profound love for God. She celebrated Christmas with its true meaning of love and joy as that’s also how she lived every day.

 Jung Ok Kim (백정옥) is survived by her husband Seok Sang Kim (김석상) of 61 years, and daughter Michelle S. Mikhailov, son-in-law Michael Mikhailov, and two grandsons Boris Y. Mikhailov (12) and Nickifor M. Mikhailov(10).

Jung Ok is also survived by her younger sisters, Anna Y. Park (Aurora, CO) and Baek Young Ok ([백영옥], Daegu, South Korea), and her youngest brother, Baek Gwang Heum ([백광흠], Gumi, South Korea) with their respective spouses; eight nephews and three nieces with Baek Seung Ho ([백승호], Daegu, South Korea) representing the oldest and their respective families. 

Jung Ok is preceded in death by her parents Baek Jung Ghee (백정기) and Do Yook Rim (도육 림), and her children Eric B. Kim and Christie S. Kim. Jung Ok is also preceded in death by her older brother Baek Jong Heum (백종흠).

 Grieving family misses her dearly and we feel it was too soon, but, the family also takes solace in knowing she is now with her beloved children in most tender God’s embrace.

 The funeral service will be held on February 19, 2024, 11:00 am at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel (11150 E Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, CO, 80014); Pastor Jae Heung Son of Eden Korean Church of Denver will officiate the service. 

After the service, lunch will be served at Hiro Japanese Buffet (2797 S Parker Road, Aurora, CO, 80014).
