Justin Matthew Ehmer, age 28, passed away April 6, 2016. He was born October 21, 1987 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the third son of Susan and Bill Ehmer. Along with brothers Daniel (Fr. Theodore) and David, Justin found ""home"" when the family moved to Colorado in 1994. As a young man, he loved the outdoors and the adventure nature had to offer. His grade school interest in music would later blossom into his life's passion. Justin's family grew in 1999 with Leslie, his step-mom and step-brother Chris Tracy. In 2007, Justin acquired step-dad Fred Gensch and step-siblings Jamie, Taylor and Billy. Justin graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 2006, where he played in the marching, jazz and concert bands and competitive percussion ensembles. Receiving a music scholarship from the University of Denver, Justin took his talent to a whole new level. Graduating in 2010, he earned his BA in Jazz Drum Set Performance. In school and thereafter, Justin lived his dream as a Musician. From jazz gigs to club shows to EDM festivals around the country, you'd find him at his best when he was behind his drums. When not on stage, Justin loved living in Boulder with his Dynohunter band of brothers; composing, practicing or out exploring God's creation. Justin was a smart, positive and funny guy with a big heart and zest for life. He hated conflict and helped keep peace using empathy and intellect or maybe a just a sad face or big group hug. Justin made friends easily, and he kept themâ¦forever. His ability to inspire others through his story and perspectives was and is truly amazing.
