Kaljo "Karl" Schiff of Brighton, Colorado passed away on July 6, 2020. Karl was born on September 19, 1935 in Tallinn, Estonia. After fleeing Estonia in 1944 with his mother Hilda and brother Rein, he eventually arrived in Eutin, Germany where he lived in a displaced persons camp for approximately 5 years. He immigrated to the United States on April 26, 1951 sponsored by the Presbyterian Church. He came to this country knowing only 3 words, yet was able to achieve so much in his life. He completed his education with an engineering degree from Tennessee Tech, served in the US Army, had a long, successful career. He was the greatest husband, dad and grandpa of all time. He will be sadly missed by his daughters Lori Barendregt, Kristi Brutout, Inger Deutsch, daughter-in-law Debbie Schiff, his grandchildren Nathaniel, Zachary Mackenzie, Kaljo, Vaughn, Monica, Natalie, Halle, Elijah, Kyler and great grandson Dustin. Who all take comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his first love of over 45 years and best mom/grandma in the world, Judy Schiff and his favorite (and only) son Eric. He will also be greatly missed by his last love, Nancy Wright, who filled his later years with laughter, love and adventure.
A Funeral Service honoring Karl’s life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 3:00pm at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado.
