Karen E. Zettl

Karen E. Zettl, 75, of Centennial, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. She was born on July 28, 1943 in Iowa to Edmund H. and Vivian K. (Landgraf) Gard. Karen married John Robert Zettl on May 28, 1966 and together they shared 52 years of marriage.

She graduated from Loretta Height's College in May of 1965.

She taught English at both the Elementary and High School levels and ended her career as a Para-Pro in Special Education for Littleton Public Schools.
Karen was also a successful entrepreneur with Home Interiors.

She enjoyed gardening, crafts, shopping, delivering gifts to others, spending time with family, traveling, The Big Bang Theory, animals of all types, bird-watching, Sci-Fi movies and visiting Gardening Centers.

In addition to her husband, Bob, she is survived by her daughter, Laura Zettl, her son, Jeff Zettl and his wife, Heather and their daughters, Paxton and Emerson; two sisters, Connie Hoye and Marlene Aarhus, and her cat - Madison.

She is preceded in death by her parents Edmund and Vivian Gard, two brothers Ed and Don Gard and one sister Coleen Keenan.

A Celebration of Life Service to honor Karen will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11AM at Horan & McConaty, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial, Colorado 80122.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Karen's name may be made to the Denver Dumb Friends League, www.ddfl.org.
