Karl David German passed away Tuesday February 21, 2017 at the age of 67. Born July 29, 1949 in Waukegan, IL to Arthur C. German and Lillian S. German (Saxon). He attended school and lived in Illinois as a child before moving to Wisconsin with his family. Karl aka ""Dave"" enlisted in the U.S. Army and is a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Post Service he moved back to Wisconsin where he worked for American Motors/Chrysler with whom he retired after 30 years. His work also introduced him to his wife Laurie where he announced to everyone they worked with that he was going to marry her and had never even said hello to her. He was right and they married on Aug 30, 1974. Over the years they had 3 children and his work eventually transferred them to Colorado where they remain today. Colorado quickly offered the perfect environment for exploration to do what he loved most; cruise on his motorcycle. Having ridden since he was a teen, the purple mountain majesties and winding hairpin passes were calling his name. He was also a member of the GWRRA (Gold Wing Road Rider's Association) which allowed him to travel all over the U.S. on his bike with family and friends. His favorite passengers were his wife and their dog Cosmo. Anytime he was on his bike it brought him so much joy. Karl was a loving Husband, Father, Papa and Friend. Although he is no longer with us today, his memory will live in our hearts always. Karl is survived by his wife Laurie, his children Shawn, Stacy, and Shane, and grandchild Mia. Celebration of Life Services will be held in Karl's honor on Saturday, March 4, 2017, 11:00 am at Heartlight Reception Center, Aurora, CO 80014. Parker & Dartmouth.
